What types of sand do you sell?

We sell coarse washed sand 0/4, fine washed sand 0/1, barrier sand, Tagus River sand and washed gravel. Every product is available in 1-tonne big bags, 25 kg sacks or in bulk.

Do all products carry CE marking?

Most of our products carry CE marking and comply with the European standard EN 12620. Products without CE marking are clearly identified as such and are intended for non-structural applications.

How do you guarantee the quality of the sand?

All our sand goes through an industrial washing process, is graded by particle size and is tested regularly. We keep strict quality control at every stage of production.

Which sand should I use for a screed?

Accepted Answer

For screeds we recommend coarse washed sand 0/4 with CE marking. This particle size gives good strength and workability. Use roughly 1:3 to 1:4 (cement:sand).

Which sand is right for render?

For interior and exterior render, use fine washed sand 0/1. It gives a smooth, even finish. A typical mix is 1:5 to 1:6 (cement:sand).

Can I use sand without CE marking?

Sand without CE marking can be used in non-structural applications such as fill, gardens and other work where certification is not required. For structural concrete, CE marking is mandatory.

How do I work out the quantity I need?
